October: travels, fall colours and inklings of winter

October was a month spent traveling! One week in Chad, one week in Stockholm, one week in Burkina Faso, one week in Stockholm, one week in Aix en Provence (this one for our vacations). What a schedule..
Shortly before landing in N'Djamena.

Back in Stockholm, meeting up with Manu and Sophie and taking them on the hill over Griesparken.

The fall colours were amazingly beautiful for a few weeks. The combination of green, orange, and red was beautiful, especially when the sun shone.

Visiting Antoine and Gaelle in their house by the water (120 stairs or so down from the street ! One has better be sure to not forget the groceries).

More fall colour, by our house.

October was also the month of school pictures.. here they are !

Domi came for a few days. Ruben and Alexandre were happy to see her, and Eric and I were happy to leave them go together to Skansen and spend time on our side to explore a part of town we had not yet been to. So, we crossed the bridge to Bromma and went up north along the waterfront.
Crossing the bridge. The sky was overcast but the view is always breathtaking.

We discovered a new beach (Johannelundsbadet), a public orchard - yeah for a good harvest !, and a very big community garden by Bromma's northern shore.

On the way to Ouagadougou, with a nice sunrise over Stockholm (on the 6.05 am flight to Paris..).

Back in Stockholm, the preparations for Halloween were in full swing.

For the fall holiday, Ruben had great homework to do: here comes bingo reading!
In progress..
And off we went to Aix en Provence for a week !
The idea had been to go for the sun and the warmth of Provence, and also of course to visit Francoise and Herve. That second half worked well. But rarely if ever have I experienced such a terrible weather in Aix - rainy and cold and wet, quasi non-stop.
Luckily we were able to meet up with friends and family ; Vincent, Laura and their 2 month old baby Charlotte were there ; Elizabeth came for a bit from Briancon ; Nathalie visited from Lyon ; and we went up to Luberon to visit Virginie, Eric and their kids in their new house.
Meeting Charlotte !

Hiding  from the rain in an indoor playground.

One of the two half days of sun.. Enjoying the vale out on the hill. And there were lots and lots and lots of yellow bolete to pick.

At home, hanging out, enjoying the collection of halloween masks from Vincent and Cyril and building up a real house in the garden. And Ruben continuing on his bingo challenge.

With Nathalie up on the Montaiguet.

Visiting Virginie and Eric in beautiful La Bastide des Jourdans.

Flying back home !With a nice view over the Alps covered in snow (after so much cold and humidity..), and then over Paris.
